Harrison takes the win at Goathland...

15th November, 2025.

Over the last week, the Harriers have been racing across North Yorkshire. On Saturday 8 November, Esther Harrison continued her excellent form and took the overall female win, and 8th overall, in a time of 4:26:50 at the Hardmoors Goathland Marathon.

Lucy Sillars also took on very muddy course, completing the half marathon event in 4:03:14. The full and half marathon courses overlap on the out and back which meant they were both able to see a friendly face and have very brief conversation on some very slippery wooden steps!

Over in Montreal in Canada, Alan Simpson was at the Federic Back parkrun finishing 26th out of 115 in 24:57.

Alan was powered by poutine (cheesy chips and gravy) and ejoyed the flat, single lap course which looped a reclaimed old quarry containing some futuristic biogas well pods. Top fact from our parkrunning tourist - Canada now has 60 parkruns to choose from or about 1 for every 150,000 square miles.
